Live Trading

Live trading is the final step in the Stratifyre workflow. Once you have built a strategy, backtested it against historical data, and validated it with scanners on live markets, the next natural step is to let it trade for you – automatically, with real money, and with safety controls in place.

Create a live session for a strategy, then choose whether its orders are simulated or sent through saved broker credentials. The session applies the strategy configuration and any selected risk limits while it runs.

The progression looks like this:

  1. Backtest – Validate your strategy against years of historical data. Review performance metrics, inspect individual trades, and debug with Strategy Replay.
  2. Paper trade – Run your strategy against real-time market data with simulated fills. This verifies that everything works as expected in live market conditions without risking capital.
  3. Go live – Connect your brokerage account and let your strategy execute real trades, with comprehensive risk management controls protecting your capital at every step.

Each stage uses the same rules and the same engine. The only thing that changes is whether fills are simulated or real.

Manage saved connections in Settings > Broker Credentials, then select a credential when creating a broker-account session. See Broker Setup for detailed information on each broker.

When your strategy’s entry conditions are met, Stratifyre automatically submits orders to your connected broker. Exits, stop-losses, and take-profit orders are managed the same way. You define the rules once and the platform handles execution around the clock.

Live trading uses real-time market data delivered through a high-performance data pipeline. Your strategy evaluates conditions on the latest quotes and trades, ensuring that signals are timely and accurate.

Every live trading session is protected by configurable risk controls:

  • Position limits – Cap the maximum shares or maximum dollar value per position.
  • Daily loss limits – Automatically pause trading if your daily losses exceed a threshold.
  • Drawdown limits – Halt trading if your account drawdown exceeds a set percentage.
  • Order rate limiting – Prevent excessive order submission.
  • Circuit breakers – Shut down trading entirely if extreme conditions are detected.

See Risk Management for details on configuring each control.

Live trading sessions have a clear lifecycle – start, run, idle outside configured market hours, and stop – with full visibility into every state transition. Emergency stop capability lets you flatten all positions and halt trading instantly if something goes wrong. See Session Management for the complete guide.

For cryptocurrency strategies, live trading operates continuously with automatic recovery from connection interruptions. If a network issue temporarily disconnects the platform from Binance, the system reconnects and reconciles any missed fills.

  1. Build and refine your strategies. Use the Strategy Builder to create and perfect your trading rules.
  2. Backtest thoroughly. Run your strategies against historical data across multiple market conditions. A strategy that only works in bull markets is not ready for live trading.
  3. Set up scanners. Use Scanners to monitor real-time markets and validate that your strategy’s conditions are occurring as expected.
  4. Create a session. Open Live Trading, create a session, choose Simulated or Broker Account, and start the session from its dashboard.
